Back to Life. Back to Reality. Back to KN?

Hi again, I hope you all had a good Summer.

KN took a long Summer break finishing with our Monthly Bar at le Lieu Unique on a beautifully sunny evening, outside on the deck-chairs.  I know that some of you met up for a Curry Night at Shalimar during the holidays which I hear was a fun evening.

During the holidays we took advantage of Nantes and the region; our first trip was along the trail of the permanent Estuaire Artworks ending at the Canal de la Martinière, finishing off with a long bicycle ride along the canal. That day there was the monthly Classic Car meet-up, a huge trail of classic cars driving along the banks of the canal, finishing near the Erwin Worm bendy boat! There’s also a creperie and bar on the Canal.

A few weeks ago, we were invited by a neighbour to their Summer House at Moutiers-on-Retz, a funky little seaside place with a cool atmosphere, after a BBQ and a walk along the beach we ended the day with an apero at the shabby chic beach bar watching the sunset.

My kids, being “crazy golf” fans were also very impressed when I found the largest crazy golf course in the West in the theme of Lucky Luke… I have to say, we did have fun, then we went for a picnic in the forest St Jean de Monts and then nearly had a major crash on a Rosalie driving along the beach promenade.

Where did you go? please tell us about your travels around Nantes and the region.

Well, what’s coming up for la Rentrée at Knowing Nantes?

First, it’s our monthly bar on the 7th September at 8pm in le Lieu Unique…come along to get KN off to a good start in la Rentrée! Meet new people or our monthly regulars. Network, socialise and get to know more about Nantes.

Saturday 6th November we will be having a “Dickie’s Diner” Night? A truly American evening of food and juke-box music in a truly authentic American Diner, in Vertou.

KN is also starting a monthly “KN Gouter Philo” for older children (10 years and over) with a Philosopher I work with, Raphaél Edelman. He will discuss philosophical topics of interest to this age group in a relaxed home setting, ending with a gouter and questions and answers session. More info to follow!

Anyhow, our newsletter will be out next week with lots more info… if you would like to receive one, sign-up on the Knowing Nantes Facebook Page as a fan and leave a note saying that you want to join the mailing list. Leave a message here on the blog, Or become a member of Knowing Nantes here… it’s easy! It’s free!

Hope to see you soon!
